End of 2009

It is nearing the end of 2009. A new decade awaits.

A look back over 2009, does not fill me with a lot of joy. It was one hectic year and sometimes it felt that it does not matter what I attempt things just did not click.

It started in May, when I had a heart attack. I spend 3 weeks in hospital, after that the year was shot. In August my wife had to have a Hernia repair. When they opened her up the doctor had to fix 4 of the buggers.

In the mean time the management of my Diabetes got hellish difficult. I am struggling to keep it within limits.

Health wise it was a shitty year, period.

There was however a bright point and that was my son. Nothing makes a father as proud as a child that achieves great heights on their own. Yep, he was elected to the student body.

But hey, the year is over, we can start fresh again.

Watch out 2010, here I come

Cowardice

This morning I realised how a society of cowards we have become. We are quick to criticise, speak our minds and air our opinions, but when it comes to action we shy away from taking responsibility.

I saw this motor cyclist go past another motorist and because the later not seeing him and cutting in front of him, the motor cyclist kick the motorist side mirror to pieces. I know some people will applaud this action, but I see the cyclist as a coward, because instead of behaving like an adult, he choose the cowards way and sped away through the traffic after causing damage to the car.

WHAT A BIG MAN !!!

I was on my way to work this morning, and while I was sitting in the traffic, I came to a sudden realization. People using GPS (SatNav) systems in motor vehicles are more dangerous than people operating cell phones.

I witnessed that the people who is using GPS (SatNav) systems, concentrate less on the road. They do not plan their route and are a total menace on the roads. They have finally capitulated to technology, which now even have to think for them. Maybe one day the GPS (SatNav) manufacturers will release a new device that can also replace the commonsense of the users, because as sure as shit, these people do not have any.

Maybe we should start a cause/petition to get SatNav’s licensed and have people go through a training course, as we do with guns.

Damn GPS (SatNav) users are lethal on the roads.
